Description
Many readers of this report might have bought their first flat-panel television
only in the past three years; some might still own a cathode-ray-tube (CRT)
set. Is it really time for yet another technology? In this special report, OLED
Association managing director Barry Young makes the case that it is.
Compared with standard thin-film-transistor-liquid-crystal displays (TFT-LCD),
organic-light-emitting-diode (OLED) displays are simply better. OLED displays
are brighter, with richer colours, deeper blacks and wider viewing angles.
They are also thinner and use less power.
